The rock gods rained amazing this weekend when Bang Camaro ventured into Williamsburg. For the longest of times they've been a favorite of mine, but I know it would be impossible to convince most to give them the same credit. Bang Camaro aren't a parody band but also aren't at all a serious one. What they are is a perfect celebration of pop and rock. Unfortunatley, what has launched them to stardome in the last few years has also been a sturdy cage. I felt a little silly when after buying the new perfectly titled Bang Camaro II when I noticed a large stamp of Rock Band apporval. Weren't multiple Radiohead tracks also featured in that game? Doesn't matter.
Bang Camaro are perfect performers and still extremely gracious despite their new found fame. At every show, Bang Camaro selects dedicated local fans to sing for them and invites excited members of the audience up as well. They also hang out in the crowd during the openers giving support and thanks to any people willing to chat with them. Finally, they kick ass at playing music. It's true that I haven't been to many guitar focused shows latley, but never have I seen so much effortless shrededge. Bang Camaro have mastered melodic lead guitar like no other band.
